What You Need To Know At A Glance

  • Dental crowns are tooth shaped caps that fit over a tooth to restore its shape, size and strength. Crowns can be used to protect a weakened tooth, repair a broken or chipped tooth, provide support to a tooth that has a large filling and very little natural tooth, or to protect a tooth after a root canal.
  • Dental Implants can also be used to replace a missing tooth. A dental implant is a small, titanium screw that is placed directly into the jawbone to act as a tooth root. Once securely placed, an artificial tooth is affixed to it. Because it is secured in the bone, this is a permanent solution.
  • Porcelain veneers are used to change the look, shape or color of a tooth. They are custom-made shells that fit over your natural teeth to provide a more attractive smile.
  • Exams and cleaning should be done every six months to ensure a healthy smile, and to correct any issues before they have a chance to become serious.
  • Dentures are essentially fake teeth and gums that are created to replace missing natural teeth. They can come in full sets or partial and are usually made of a hard resin that is custom created to match your natural teeth.
  • Root canals procedures are performed on teeth that have become infected in order to save or repair the tooth. The nerve and pulp of the tooth are removed, and then the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Once healed, a crown will typically be used to cover the tooth.
  • Dental bridges are used to bridge a gap created by missing teeth. They typically consist of two or more crowns on either side of the gap and an artificial tooth to replace the missing tooth.
